Investissement Québec Injects $1M into ACET Capital

The ACET Capital fund of the Accélérateur de création d’entreprises technologiques (ACET – Accelerator for the Creation of Technological Businesses) has been increased by $1M, thanks to the participation of Investissement Québec.

This investment has been added to the contributions of the National Bank and five new partners to bring the capitalization of ACET Capital up to $3M, noted Roger Noël, CEO of ACET.

The ACET Capital fund helps support the start-up of innovative businesses founded at the Université de Sherbrooke and supported by ACET. To date, six businesses have been financed through ACET Capital and numerous files are currently being studied.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Economy, Science, and Innovation and Minister responsible for the Digital Strategy, Dominique Anglade, along with the MNA for Orford, Pierre Reid, the MNA for Saint-François, Guy Hardy, and the Mayor of Sherbrooke, Bernard Sévigny.

In addition to its investment fund, ACET offers targeted assistance to young entrepreneurs selected by approximately 30 mentors and experts.
