Sherbrooke Ranks 5th Among Canada’s Entrepreneurial Cities

Sherbrooke fared well in the most recent ranking of entrepreneurial communities, positioning itself fifth in Canada, and first in Québec, among cities with a population of more than 150 000.

In 2015, Sherbrooke ranked 11th among Canadian Census Agglomerations.

Sherbrooke ranks 16th among all cities in the overall rating produced by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), with an index of 64.5. This reflects a jump of 26 positions—and 4.2 points—compared to 2015, when Sherbrooke was in 42nd position overall.

The entrepreneurial profiles of 121 Census Metropolitan Areas (CMA) and Census Agglomerations (CA) with a population of 20 000 or more in Canada were established based on 14 indicators grouped into 3 categories—presence, perspective, and policy—drawing on Statistics Canada data and direct perspectives from CFIB’s members, representing more than 109 000 business owners across Canada.
