SE2 Enters the Pre-Marketing Phase of its Alice POS Platform

PRESS RELEASE – The company SE2 is preparing to market its cloud-based Alice POS platform, offering point-of-sale management solutions for retail chains. Once the current pre-marketing phase has been completed, SE2 will be ready to launch its solution on the global market.

For a few months, SE2 has been working out of the business accelerator/incubator Espace-inc, where it benefits from the acceleration program and a team of high-calibre coaches. At present, six employees work at the company’s offices, and the owners plan to hire two more between now and June.

The pre-marketing phase for the Alice POS platform required investments of $425,000. Entrepreneurs Charles Beaupré and François Côté were able to count on financial support from Sherbrooke Innopole’s new start-up fund and from private investors. The entrepreneurs also benefited from the Prêt à entreprendre entrepreneurship support program, offered in the Estrie region through the Chambre de commerce de Sherbrooke.

“The Alice POS product and approach are very innovative. The company was able to capitalize on the growth in ICT and offer a solution with great potential that clearly stands out in comparison to the competition’s offering,” said Marc-Henri Faure, Counsellor – Information & Communication Technologies at Sherbrooke Innopole.

“The background work our coaches did with SE2 enabled the company to strategically focus on its priority actions. In the pre-marketing phase, it is important to focus on actions that create short-term value and that structure all operations to accelerate growth,” stated Chloé Legris, Executive Director of Espace-inc.

The Alice POS platform, offered to retailers by monthly subscription, is a versatile tool—it manages goods for sale or rental, transfers between locations, as well as in-store and online sales, while providing performance reports to administrators. Alice POS also enables information to be communicated to franchisors and franchisees.

SE2’s CEO, Charles Beaupré, is very excited about the technology he and his team created: “Our monthly subscription approach eliminates a major barrier to entry by making accessible a system optimized for retailers in a retail network. We have launched Alice POS in several stores, including a chain with locations in five countries, and the comments that we have received have been extremely positive!”
