Oneka Technologies Receives LOJIQ’s Grand Prize

The owners of OnekaTechnologies_LOJIQOneka Technologies, Dragan Tutic and Renaud Lafortune, made a name for themselves among the 4000 participants in LOJIQ’s 2015 programs. They won LOJIQ’s Grand Prize, which is awarded at a ceremony at the National Assembly. This prize is given to projects that, in addition to having a significant impact, have increased Québec’s visibility on the world stage.

This start-up founded by these two entrepreneurs provides autonomous seawater desalination units that produce drinking water harnessing energy from only wave movement.

Last year, LOJIQ supported the business so that it could attend the 2nd edition of the International Conference on Desalination using Membrane Technology in Singapore. This first mission allowed these entrepreneurs to see their product’s potential, as it is an ecological and economical technology. Since then, the business’ representatives attended the International Conference on Ocean Energy 2016 in Edinburgh, and it is gearing up to visit the Caribbean for its third mission.

Oneka’s owners will market their product in 2017.
