Motrec International Acquires Land in Sherbrooke Regional Industrial Park

PRESS RELEASE – Specialized in the manufacturing of industrial electric vehicles, the Sherbrooke company Motrec International acquired a 30 000 m2 piece of land in the Sherbrooke Regional Industrial Park, at the intersection of Portland Boulevard and Robert-Boyd Street. The company is planning a major expansion project to address the needs related to its rapid growth.

Despite political uncertainty in the United States, its primary export market, the company is optimistic: economic conditions will be favourable and the criteria for success will be met to complete the project, currently in the analysis phase, in 2017.

After exploring all of its options, the company decided to renew its confidence in the City of Sherbrooke by acquiring the site, as mentioned Blair McIntosh, President and CEO of Motrec International:

“The acquisition of this land is an important first step leading to the realization of our expansion project that we hope will be a value creator for the Motrec extended family, as well as for our region. We believe this site will be a showcase that will put our company on the map.”

The construction work on the site will begin over the next few weeks. Also, the formal confirmation of the completion of the project and its details will be revealed during an upcoming announcement.
