Motrec International and ACCEO Solutions Nominated for the 2016 Mercuriades

The Sherbrooke company Motrec International is a finalist in two categories for the 36th edition of the Mercuriades business competition.

The developer and manufacturer of industrial electric vehicles has been nominated in the categories Online or Mobile Technology Development – SME and Innovation – SME.

To optimize their business processes, Motrec has implemented an ecosystem of digital platforms that are all connected: a new client website, extranet where dealers can create online quotes, and customer relations management software to manage sales and service for its international network.

The Sherbrooke company has also developed high-performance alternating current direct drive powertrains that are robust and require little maintenance. Several key players in the industry—GM, Ford, Tesla, Nissan, Goodyear, and Paccar—have already adopted this innovative technology, which gives this 60-employee company a major competitive advantage.

This year, for the first time, the competition will present the Merit in Workforce Training award to a company that has led a workforce skills development project. ACCEO Solutions, which provides business, accounting, banking, SAAS, and cloud computing solutions and services, is in the running. The company has nearly 1000 employees in 8 offices across Canada, including 75 employees at its Sherbrooke office.

Organized by the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ – Québec Federation of Chambers of Commerce), the Mercuriades competition rewards the innovation, ambition, and performance of Québec businesses, both small and large.

The winners in all 12 categories will be announced during a gala taking place on May 16, 2016, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
