Microsoft Word - 2014-02-27 Communiqué Exo8

PRESS RELEASE – The Sherbrooke Company Exo8, which specializes in hot air welding, radiofrequency welding and industrial sewing is about to move to larger premises in order to increase productivity and pursue its growth.

March 1st, Ex08 will operate from 4240, Industrial boulevard in the Sherbrooke regional industrial park. It will have more than twice its current square footage (4259 Garlock Street). The new 5,000 square feet location will offer more floor space for production and the specialized equipment required for its activities.

« Our new location has many advantages. It’s a new facility – we are the first occupiers -, so we were able to configure it according to our needs. It’s also ideally situated, being more accessible to our customers and suppliers. We will also benefit from increased visibility and better access to the highway network», points out Ex08 Founding President, Vincent Tardif.

Up to now, Exo8 has invested more than $100,000 to fit out its new premises. Similar investments are planned in the next two years to purchase state of the art equipment. The expansion project will ensure the continuity of four existing full-time positions and lead to the creation of three new positions in the short term. Exo8 was able to rely on the support of Sherbrooke Innopole in its search for new premises.

Sherbrooke Innopole General Director, Josée Fortin rejoices in the growth of Exo8 in Sherbrooke: «Thanks to its spirit of innovation and excellence, Exo8 has established itself as a North-American leader in specialized welding and inflatable products. With its expansion and relocation project, the Company will continue to enhance Sherbrooke’s reputation and we are proud to assist them in this new phase of their development. »

Established in 2005, Exo8 specializes in the design and manufacture of custom products for the medical, military, sports and security sectors. Its advanced expertise in specialized materials and innovative technologies allows it to develop products that give its customers a competitive advantage.

In addition to personalized R&D, design and fabrication, Exo8 designs and manufactures OXY-NOVA pressurized chambers, a portable and flexible hyperbaric chamber. An R&D initiative entirely accomplished in Sherbrooke and banking on the health benefits of increased oxygenation, OXY-NOVA chambers are currently sold in Canada and the US via two exclusive distributors. « We plan on consolidating these two markets in the coming years before developing the European market, where different security standards are applied », foresees Vincent Tardif.
