Ecotierra won the RBC Impact Entrepreneurship award at the 8^th Social Finance Forum held in Toronto in a Dragons’ Den-style final. A $5000 prize was presented with the award.

Ecotierra ranked first among the 19 companies invited to the event at the end of two rounds of business pitches. The Sherbrooke company was selected by a jury of three “dragons,” which took into account the public’s choice.

Social finance refers to investing opportunities in projects or companies aiming to simultaneously generate social, environmental, and financial benefits.

Ecotierra, a developer of sustainable forestry and agricultural projects that generate carbon credits, recently obtained international B Corp certification, which recognizes socially and environmentally responsible companies. The Sherbrooke company was also recently integrated into SVX, a Canadian platform specialized in impact ventures.

Ecotierra is one of the six companies that are part of Espace-INC’s acceleration program.
