The City of Sherbrooke Unveils Its Open-Data Portal

The City of Sherbrooke launched its open-data portal at the ICT Rendez-Vous on November 15, 2013. In doing so, Sherbrooke became the 4th city in Québec and the first in Estrie to implement such an initiative.

Eleven data sets are now available for information about bike paths, walking paths, topographic contours, flood-prone areas, ZAP access points, and much more. Other municipal data will be added in the near future.

These public data can be used by developers and experts in the information-and-communication-technology (ICT) sector to develop Web and mobile-device applications that Sherbrooke residents will find useful.
