2015 Desjardins Entrepreneur Awards: Diex Research’s CEO and Artoplex Receive Awards

The President and CEO of Diex Research, Suzie Talbot, and Artopex took home top honours in their respective categories at the 2015 Desjardins Entrepreneur Awards gala.

Suzie Talbot, Diex ResearchSuzie Talbot co-founded Diex Research in 2006. She won the Woman of Influence Award. The jury described her as a “woman with vision and great leadership ability, [who] quickly led the business to success while receiving recognition from her peers.”

The Sherbrooke business leads phase I to IV clinical research studies in various therapeutic fields, including women’s health, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), fibromyalgia, Alzheimer’s disease, excess body weight, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). In addition to its head office in Sherbrooke, Diex Research has two sites in Montréal and one in Québec City.

Ms. Talbot holds a nursing degree from the Université de Montréal, a Master’s in Business Administration from the Université de Sherbrooke, and a graduate diploma in management from HEC Montréal. She is a member of Sherbrooke Innopole’s Board of Directors.

ArtopexArtopex, which has two facilities in Sherbrooke, Logiflex and TEC Innovation, was honoured in the Innovation and Productivity category for medium-sized businesses.

The office furniture manufacturer employs 400 people and has a network of 465 distributors in North America. It celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2015 and has been recognized by Deloitte as one of Canada’s best-managed companies.

The company’s TEC Innovation facility specializes in manufacturing chairs and armchairs and will be participating in the 2nd edition of the industry open house (Portes ouvertes sur l’industrie) on October 24, 2015.
